The new additions to HP’s line-up of large format printers—HP Designjet T1120 PS, Designjet T1200, Designjet T770, and Designjet T620—were launched on November 22 in Dubai. The company also introduced new and enhanced bond papers with ColorPRO technology and HP recycled bond paper made of 100% recycled base paper.
Amin Mortazavi, General Manager, HP IPG Middle East, said, “At HP, we have transformed the way we look at the design & graphics industry across the region to bring in market best-in-class products and solutions that enable our customers to simplify the way in which they communicate beyond printing.”
Expressing optimism for the year 2010, he added, “Our commitment to innovate remains as strong as ever—HP spends one billion dollars on R&D annually. We launch our products during two seasons-the first season is spring during we introduce our products for the consumer market, and the second season is fall during which we usually launch out top of the line products. The reason we have planned our product launches in this manner is because of Gitex, which is among the most important events on our calendar. We usually launch our state-of-the-art LFP products after the exhibition.”
George Semaan, LFP Business Manager, Indoor Printing Solutions-IPG ME, said, “Before launching any new product, we go to the market and ask our customers for their feedback, which then determines the development of our printers.”
Elaborating to the new features available on the machines, Semaan added, “The HP Designjet T1200 allows two on-line paper rolls at the same time and switching between them, thus saving time and paper. The 6-color (with three different blacks) printer comes with an embedded spectrophotometer, and a new print cartridge delivers a volume of 300 cc. Up to 25 users can send their files simultaneously to the printer. Furthermore, there has been significant improvement in the security features of the product which is very important for industries such as aviation.”
